Health and Wellness Services

Missouri state law requires that all students must be up-to-date on all immunizations in order to attend school. The Missouri School Immunization requirements have changed for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. This change will affect 2017-2018 seniors and 8th graders. The immunization requirement has included the Meningococcal vaccine (MCV). 8th graders will be required to have one dose and seniors will be required to have two doses, with the exception if the first dose was administered to a student who was 16 years of age or older, in which case only one dose is required. If your child is not up to date on MCV, proof of receiving the MCV vaccine must be turned in before the first day of school in August.
An immunization clinic will be provided and hosted by the Webster County Health Unit on March 30th at the high school. If you wish to have your child participate in this clinic, please contact Christina Roberts at Christina.Roberts@mjays.us or 859-2120 ext. 2310 or Shari Miller at Shari.Miller@mjays.us or at 859-2120 ext. 2150 by the deadline of February 27 to ensure enough serum. No one will have out of pocket expense. All insurance companies will be covered with the exception of Cox. Cox insurance requires immunization performed at their doctor's clinic site.
Again, please contact Nurse Christina Roberts at Christina.Roberts@mjays.us or 859-2120 ext. 2310 or Shari Miller at Shari.Miller@mjays.us or 859-2120 ext. 2109 to register and/or for questions.
